ABOUT ME
I am a German film director and editor, with a focus on narrative and documentary auteur cinema.
My previous work is strongly shaped by my close connection to Latin America, particularly Colombia – a region that has had a lasting influence on my cinematic and artistic vision.
As a storyteller I have great curiosity about people and stories of all backgrounds, as well as strong ethical awareness. My strengths in editing include open-mindedness, precision, and an excellent sense of rhythm. I speak German natively, fluent English, Spanish and Finnish, and I also have basic knowledge of French and Portuguese.
I directed the feature documentary SUEÑOS EN CONCRETO and ENTRE FUEGO Y AGUA I co-directed. I was responsible for the editing of both films. As lead editor, I worked on television productions such as the documentary series ARRULLO AZUL and HISTORIAS DE MENTES, and edited television series such as SOMOS COMO SOMOS and EL MUNDO ANIMAL DE MAX RODRIGUEZ, as well as medium-length feature films such as KALIFORNIA and NIRWANA BLÜTE. As a director, I have realised the short films THE FAREWELL OF JUAN AND JUAN, GHILLIE AND THE NOTHING, and TO BE.TO DO. TO FIND.
My work has been shown at festivals around the world, including the Berlinale, IDFA, Hot Docs, DOK.fest München, Doker, Morelia International Film Festival, the International Short Film Festival Hamburg, and FICCI Cartagena, and has received several awards.
